The Power of Being Yourself.........

Featuring the Kevin Skinner story:

Hey ya'll,

I got a real nice email from Brad Paul a couple pf days ago. He is a huge Kevin Skinner fan and said he liked our site. I went over to his site and did some reading and found some real nice articles. I asked him for permission to post a link to an article he wrote concerning Kevin and he said it would be fine. I hope you enjoy it too. Here's the link:

DAWN THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL ARTICLE and I heartily agree with every bone in my body. In a way, I was thinking about this today for a bit...just popped into my head as we have discussed Kevin's attire choice or hat or in pictures and some of it has made me think SO WHAT!? Of course, this is coming from "me" and I often am found in less than fashionable attire so...take THAT with a grain of salt...but think about it...What do you wear when you want to be MOST comfortable...? You probably won't wear something that would be on a New York runway, right? For me it is my moccasins...NO, I didn't wear them to Foxwoods, but SHOULD have... I went with the middle of the road choice but Kevin has attracted all of us because he could be our brother, our friend, our son, our something that we would like to keep Near and Dear. GREAT article Dawn. You should send this to Kevin...I think he would like to see that and if he is feeling any pressures or style things...It will let him ease those issues and spend time on those that are most important...THAT CD. ;';

Even Mr. Paul sees Kevin as the real deal....a wonderful article....he has great insight of people and it's nice to know someone like him is in support of Kevin...we know clothes, attractiveness, etc. doesn't show the true inner self, but some of we women just like attire to match up...the Virgo in me...lol...Kevin will never have a problem of people supporting him with his wonderful persona and he's on his way now for years to come entertaining us with his beautiful voice and music.

Oh God, 2 Virgo's on the same site. LOL (I'm sure there are more tho) :""

Yes, I liked the article and appreciate Brad's perspective on it all. I also enjoyed reading a little of his background, quite interesting actually. He has already sent the article to Kevin's manager so I'm quite sure Kevin will read it soon, if not already.

My most comfortable attire, truly, nobody wants to know. I'm, let's just say, conservative, in that and don't much care what people think about me. My hope would be that Kevin doesn't worry too much about that kinda stuff either. }{}

I'm sure when Kevin reads the article, his head will swell with pride knowing he got where he is today by being himself...I'm a rather conservative dresser myself and like to be comfortable...having doing hard labor in factories many years, didn't have the time or energy to "dress up"...of course when he goes out on that stage, he wants to be comfortable, but wants to look professional also with matched up clothes and accessories...hopefully, he will have a good wardrobe person to help him in that way.

I totally agree, send this to Kevin.
This IS how people feel and I hope it is "sinking in" for Kevin as to just how huge of a fan base he really has. ...

How many times have you heard someone say, "Just be who you are", I've even had my mother tell me this.Kevin has perfected this to an art.The article is right on. We all saw the same thing in Kevin, I hesitate to use the word,"adorable" yet that describes him to me in his first AGT audition. A little shy, a little nervous, and a lot over whelmed. I think that's what made us older fans and young as well attracted to him. I know a big out doors man like Kevin would not like to be referred to as adorable yet that was my first impression. Now I guess should change that to admirable,or amazing.

If you recall it was Kevin's father who told him "just be yourself" before he shoved off for Hollywood. I enjoyed the article and am glad Mr. Paul brought it to your attention.
